Chapter 11, pg 98

"A good laugh, that - cleaning up the camp."

Why did Brian choose the words ' good laugh' to decribe the cleaning of the camp?

Do you agree with Brian that cleaning up was just a joke? Explain why.

Actually i don't think that cleaning up is just a joke....Seriously! i don't think so!Because i might get dirty, and there will be sweat that will make me sticky all over! But i think that for Billy...since he is already build up and have adapted to the surroundings(living in wild)i think that it will be no trouble for him to clean the camp.(His muscles might grow too !)hehe

1.All brian did was shake out his wind breaker and hang it in sun dry ...

all these are easy stuff to do and he actually taught it was easy.

2.Well, brian cleaning up the camp isn't hard and he would'nt sweat that much!

As Brian was in the woods there was nothing to clean up, because he owned nothing, all he did was adjust a few things and he was done.So it is quite a joke to clean up the camp,as he had nothing to clean up.

Reflection on Hatchet Debate

Within 1 hour, 39 pupils spoke out and shared some of their thoughts on a given topic and in so doing allowed others to have insight of their own beliefs and values - think of the 'Perfect Home' discussion.

I would like to applaud the 39 individuals for bringing such a professional quality to the debate - all contributed to its success and the 'energy' that resulted from this concerted effort will be converted into greater motivation for 6 Grace.

Please take time to reflect and share your thoughts on the following:

How did this debate affect my perceptions of myself?
In what ways did the debate fit my learning style?
Has it influenced the way I perceive English and Literature?
What did the debate show us about the 'tricks' authors use to captivate the heart and mind of the reader?

I had such pleasure hosting the debate and I felt the true magic of 6 Grace.

Please post your thoughts. Thank you.
